About WGLG

Warsaw Geotechnical Laboratories Group is the united organization of three large National Research Institutes:

Road and Bridge Research Institute – IBDiM
Building Research Institute – ITB
Polish Geological Institute – PIG

There are 90 research workers in the laboratory:

3 professors
17 doctors
54 specialists
17 engineers

The theme of mentioned Institutes work includes:

engineering geology
hydrogeology (including dewatering of excavations)
geotechnics (including soil mechanics, ground strengthening, spread foundation, deep foundation and special foundation)

Our laboratory is equipped with instruments for laboratory investigations: triaxial apparatus, oedometers, consolidometers, instruments for determining the coefficient of permeability and equipment for field tests – CPT soundings, CPTU, DMT, SPT, WST, FVT, PLT, DPL, DPM, DPH, DPSH. The laboratory has the internal accreditation for laboratory investigations and some soundings. It also makes consulting, projects and construction monitoring. The headquarters of Warsaw Geotechnical Laboratories Group is in ITB and professor Lech Wysokiński (ITB) is the coordinator of the group.
